Easy highway access with Interstate 71 and State Routes 3, 18, 42, 57, and 162 means residents can commute easily to Akron and Cleveland—within 20 minutes from their Montville Township homes. These roads also make connections quick to other areas for shopping and amenities outside of the Medina area, although Montville Township has great shopping, hospitals, parks and other recreational activities.
Montville Township is conveniently located in Northeast Medina County with easy access to Interstates 71, 79, 77 and 271 giving the township easy access to Cleveland, Akron, and Hopkins International Airport. In addition there are multiple Ohio State highways for North-South ans East-West travel.
It is safe place to live. Police, fire and life support teams are all under one roof, in the Ron Bischof Safety Services Center at the corner of Poe Road and Wadsworth Road (State Route 57). Since it’s construction in 2011 this facility has reduced reported fire and life support services response times to a range of 3 – 7 minutes. There are excellent hospitals and medical facilities including Summa Emergency Center, Summa Health Care Center Lake Medina—medical offices and out patient surgery, Trillium Creek Dermatology & Surgery, and Ohio Holistic Medicine.
Businesses thrive in Montville Township in two main business areas. The first area is located on the south side of Medina Road (State Route 18), which has restaurants, Buehlers Food Store, motels, planned shopping centers, available shops and land ready to be developed. The second business area is located on Wooster Pike Road (State Route 3), which has restaurants, Boyert’s greenhouse, office buildings, independent businesses and land ready to be developed. Other businesses, including four golf courses, are located through out the area with shopping in and around Montville Township.
Many farms are scattered throughout Montville Township, and they raise an assortment of produce and animals. You will find everything from corn, soybeans, chickens and pigs to dairy farms and exclusive horse farms.
The three cemeteries in Montville Township are Crofoot Hill, Case-Anderson and Poe Cemetery. Crofoot and Case Anderson are the resting places of the earliest settlers. Poe Cemetery continues to grow in size, is used today and is located at Wadsworth Road (State Route 57) and Poe Rd.
Our parks are located in planned communities. Austin Badger Park is the newest addition to our park system located off of River Styx Road. It offers hiking trails, mountain bike course and outdoor fitness stations. There are future plans for a nature preserve and education station. Cobblestone Park has walking trails, two pavilions, picnic tables, four baseball diamonds and two lacrosse fields located in the Cobblestone Park subdivision off Wooster Pike Road (State Route 3). White Tail Park’s amenities include two soccer fields, two basketball courts, a playground, a large lake, walking trails and a beautiful pavilion, off Poe Road in the Whitetail Crossing Subdivision.
