You passed Drivers Ed. You passed your road test. But are you really prepared to drive yourself, your family, and your friends? What can you do to take control?

Safe driving is more than learning the rules of the road. Safe driving takes practice. In addition to classroom instruction, “Take Control” puts drivers behind the wheel with certified police driving instructors to practice the following techniques:

  • The relationship between eye positioning and driving
  • Vehicle pivot points in forward and reverse
  • Skid recovery
  • Collision avoidance
  • Emergency braking

Take Control is an expansion of the Medina County Juvenile Diversion program. Since 2008 Medina County local law enforcement has offered a similar advanced driver training to teens who received their first traffic citation, in lieu of a traditional fine, thanks to the support of Medina County Juvenile Court.
