Wadsworth City Schools is a triple-A school district, emphasizing Academics, Athletics, and the Arts. Their focus is to produce well-rounded students who are well-prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century. For the past ten years, the district has been designated Excellent by the Ohio Department of Education.
The district is extremely fortunate to serve a community that prizes educational excellence. They are excited to complete a new High School/Community Center Complex that opened for the 2012 school year. This building will allow Wadsworth High School to share community space with the City of Wadsworth, Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Health System, and Wadsworth Public Library, enhancing recreational opportunities for all age groups and serving as a satellite hub for wellness and library services. They also replaced our three oldest elementary buildings: Isham Memorial, Overlook, and Valley View. The new elementary buildings were ready for the start of the 2012 school year. Their district motto, “Where Quality Education is a Community Tradition,” becomes especially meaningful in light of these exciting changes.
